YOUTH OUTREACH HOLIDAY GIFT PROJECT 2020

During the 2020 holiday season, forty-eight holiday bags were delivered to the Street Outreach Program in Santa Fe for young persons who are experiencing food and shelter insecurity. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Santa Fe Quota Lions Club Branch Members made sure that the needs of the youth would be met for the holidays. Each bag contained a flashlight, hand warmers, a hygiene kit, socks, a hat, gloves, a snack bag, cards, stamps, and a blanket.  Gift cards to Walgreens and CVS along with bus passes were also provided for staff to distribute as needed.  Additional donations are being used to provide items needed through the winter.

The holiday project is an annual event sponsored by Santa Fe Quota Lions Club Branch. It is funded by the donations of the Santa Fe community, especially our very generous realtors, and club members. We are thankful for the continued support of Santa Feans that makes this project possible.

LEAPING LEPRECHAUN FUNDRAISING DINNER 2019

Proceeds from the Leaping Leprechaun Fundraising Dinner 2019 benefited The Betty Shockey Memorial Scholarship Fund for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students. The 2019 recipients are August Skoog and Nthabeleng McDonald. The scholarship fund will assist both students with their post-secondary education.

We are thankful for Round the Roundhouse, a wonderful Santa Fe newspaper,  who shared an article written by the New Mexico School for the Deaf about the St. Patrick’s Day Fundraising Dinner.

Special thanks to the New Mexico School for the Deaf, friends of Quota International of Santa Fe and all who participated in making the evening a success! We are grateful for your generosity and for your efforts in continually making a difference in the lives of students and their families through the Betty Shockey Memorial Scholarship Fund!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and closing our club resulted in 2019 being our final St. Patrick’s Day event.  Our thanks to all who participated over the years.
